Euroluce''s new Melbourne Light Studio reflects the company''s core values of quality, design integrity, originality, innovation and service excellence.

"The Melbourne Light Studio is designed to be a flexible space that allows the team to set up lighting solutions for clients to review, a venue for educational events and a space to test new technology. The launch of the Melbourne Light Studio also heralds the first phase in Euroluce''s move towards a total solutions model, where consultation and lighting design will eventually sit alongside installation, maintenance and product recycling services," says Phil Payne, Sales and Marketing General Manager for Euroluce.

Euroluce worked with Pascale Gomes-McNabb on the interior design of the Melbourne Light Studio. Gomes-McNabb is a Melbourne-based architect known for her detail-driven and thoughtfully referenced spaces such as Cumulus Inc., Stokehouse and Bentley Restaurant and Bar. The new Light Studio by Gomes-McNabb celebrates Melbourne and its unique architectural vernacular.

"When invited to design the new Euroluce Light Studio, the immediate impetus was to curate an exhibition. Euroluce represents some of the most iconic lighting products and the world''s greatest designers including Gino Sarfatti for FLOS, so the idea was to create a gallery in which these objects could be displayed. Parallel to this was the objective to develop a flexible space that could accommodate business operations," says Pascale Gomes-McNabb.

Using Sol Lewitt and Donald Judd as points of inspiration, Gomes McNabb designed a series of manoeuvrable cubes made from powder coated steel, and mirror and cement sheet that aid in the curation of light. These cubes allow lighting products to be displayed in a myriad of ways. The intention was to liberate the light, to create an experience where the focus was on viewing and experiencing the object without distraction.
