British Steel Official Receiver said “While discussions with Ataer are continuing, discussions with other parties who have expressed continued and renewed interest in acquiring the whole British Steel business will now be possible. Ataer remain very much interested in acquiring the business and we remain in detailed discussions with them to conclude a sale."
Leader of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, Councillor Mary Lanigan said “We welcome the ongoing discussions with Ataer and other parties who are interested in the British Steel business. We have two successful plants in our Borough at Lackenby and Skinningrove and they are vital part of our economy, providing jobs and prosperity for many families. Our focus has been on securing the future of those plants, along with the other parts of British Steel.
