JSW Steel reveals details of capacity expansion plans-The 18th China(Guangzhou)Int’l Metal &Metallurgy Exhibition

     PTI reported that JSW Steel announced that it has drawn up capital expenditure  programme of INR 26,800 crore for the next three years period to expand  capacity. JSW Steel joint managing director Mr Seshagiri Rao told reporters “We  are investing INR 26,800 crore over the next three years period to expand our  steel capacity. We will raise around INR 15,000 crore through debt and the  balance will be through cash accruals.”
Mr Rao said the board of the company has approved the key new investment  projects to expand overall steelmaking capacity, lower operating costs and enrich  product mix.
1. Dolvi - It is augmenting crude steel capacity at Dolvi to 10 million tonnes from  the present 5 million tonnes) along with 4 million tonne pellet plant and 4 klins of  600 tonnes per day of Lime Calcination Plants. The estimated project cost is INR  15,000 crore and the project is expected to be completed by March 2020.
2. Vijaynagar - The company has taken up revamp and capacity upgradation of  BF-3 at Vijayanagar works from 3.0 million tonne to 4.5 million tonne. The  estimated project cost is INR 1,000 crore and the project expected to be  commissioned in a period of 20 months.
3. Vijaynagar - It will increase the capacity of cold rolling mill at Vijayanagar to 1.80  million tonne from 0.85 million tonne along with two continuous galvanising line of  0.45 million tonne each, a new 1.2 million tonne Continuous Pickling Line for  HRPO and a new 0.80 million tonne hot rolled Skin Pass Mill for hot rolled pickled,  skin passed and oiled products. These projects are estimated to cost INR 2,000  core and expected to be completed by September 2019.
4. Vasind & Tarapore - JSW Steel will also take up modernisation and capacity  enhancement of Vasind and Tarapur downstream facilities at estimated cost of INR  1,200 core and it is to be completed by April 2019. -The 18th China(Guangzhou)Int’l Metal &Metallurgy Exhibition
