Idmir Demir Selic (IDC), one of Turkey''s largest billet and bar producers, suspended its smelting and rolling plants completely since April 8 as COVID-19 outbreak, and resumed operation of its bar and angle products in two shifts on April 21.
The company’s rolling mills have been operating in three shifts since the COVID-19 outbreak. According to reports, the company had restarted production at its smelting plant.
IDC''s melting capacity is 1.5 million tons per year, accounting for 3.5% of Turkey''s total crude steel production, while rolling mills’s annual capacity is 1.4 million tons
