According to Kardemir Chairman Prof. Dr. ismail Demir, the first iron casting on September 10, 1939, was aturning point in Turkey''s industrial history. lt not only represented the republic''s vision of industrialindependence, transforming raw resources into domestic value, but also served as a symbol of nationaldetermination to build a self-sufficient heavy industry, and paved the way for the country to process its own rawmaterials and turn them into added value, marking the birth of Turkey''s steel sector.
