LME nickel price hits high level as Jul 2017---The 20th China(Guangzhou)Int'l Stainless Steel Industry Exhibition

The nickel price from London Metal Exchange (LME) settled at US$13,610/ton yesterday (March 6th), and the three-month future price closed at US$13,660/ton, which reached the high level as July 20th, 2018.
According to the market participants, the current stainless steel market in Taiwan was not as good as the same period of last year although the nickel price was increasing. The domestic sales prices were hard to rise due to weak demand for stainless steel in Taiwan.
As for the export, steel mills in Taiwan said that orders from exporters or processing factories have increased. However, Taiwanese traders thought that the domestic industries are grabbing orders from European countries actively. Therefore, the price has raised, but the profit margin was limited accordingly.
